We’re pretty excited about the brand new reality singing contest show, The Voice SA, which is set to debut on M-Net on 31 January 2016 and can now finally share the awesome news that one of our favourite people here at MyCityByNight (and my better half) Stacey Norman alongside the talented Lungile Radu are going to be the hosts of the new show.
While Lungile has had a glittering TV career, having already been a Channel O VJ along with hosting Big Brother Mzansi, Kasi 101, Fear Factor SA and even Goal Diggerz, Stacey, is relatively new to our TV screens. She’s been killing it on 947 and has turned the show into something truely spectacular that helps you get through your weekday mornings with a smile (09:00 to 12:00 Mon-Fri) and is now ready to share her wit and amazing looks with South Africa at large.
Lungile is set to be the show’s main host with Stacey holding things down in the V-Room where she’ll chat to the contestants and engage with viewers via social media during the live shows.
“Lungile’s extensive experience in front of the camera will stand him in good stead in this demanding role,” “On top of handling the pressures of a live reality show, he will manage all the emotions in the wings – from buoying contestants’ nervous families and friends to giving the singers much-needed support in the later rounds of the show. We all know that he is a slick, highly professional host, but The Voice SA will also highlight his warm and caring personality.”
– says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.
She goes on to add –
“Stacey is perfect for this role. She is energetic, funky and smart and understands the social media realm. She’s definitely going to create a big buzz and we’re delighted that she will be making her television debut on M-Net.”
After chatting to her extensively it’s fairly obvious that Stacey is pretty amped about the whole thing, which is perfectly summed up by her quote below
“As a huge fan of The Voice, to now be part of it – as it launches in SA for the first time – is mind blowing. This is honestly the biggest thing that has ever happened to me and I can’t wait to get started,”
The Voice South Africa panel of coaches is made up by Lira, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Kahn Morbee and Karen Zoid, with filming for the show kicking off next week.
We really can’t wait to see the premiere come next year!
