The internet has exploded with the very first release from young aspiring pop star Tay Allyn entitled Mass Text, which was released last week. She’s been likened to Rebecca Black in that her non-sensical song, like Friday has also been garnering thousands more views on Youtube with each passing second.

The song, thoughtfully titled “Mass Text,” consists of winning lyrics like “Why didn’t I get your mass text? / I’m in your contacts” over what can only be described as a beat that was produced on a Playstation 1 in a half an hour. On the Kickstarter page aimed at funding a music video for her planned follow-up single, she says:

“While at school I discovered a new genre of music that I created called ‘Rock & Talk’! It’s like Ke$ha without the sex, and Lady Gaga without the avant garde — what are you left with? Taylor singing about mundane things of everyday life to hott beats! It’s sassy, fun, and RELATABLE.”

After giving up almost 4 minutes of your life you’ll probably feel a bit robbed as you fight the urge to sing the song’s hook all day long to your work and study buddies. This video has everything… girl likes boy, boy doesn’t notice girl, uniforms, high school hallway choreography and… a kiss.

You know you want to…

Aspiring pop princess Tay Allyn released her first single on Wednesday and, well, we’re kind of confused.

The song, titled “Mass Text,” mainly consists of the lyrics “Why didn’t I get your mass text? / I’m in your contacts” over a pulsing electronic beat.

It’s tricky to put Allyn’s music in a category. Some have called her the next Rebecca Black, while others claim that “Mass Text” is a carefully-crafted parody.

On the Kickstarter page for a music video to accompany her next single, she writes: “While at school I discovered a new genre of music that I created called ‘Rock & Talk’! It’s like Ke$ha without the sex, and Lady Gaga without the avant garde — what are you left with? Taylor singing about mundane things of everyday life to hott beats! It’s sassy, fun, and RELATABLE.”

The music video for “Mass Text” has already racked up 150,000 views and hits all of pop’s favorite clichés: girl likes boy, boy doesn’t notice girl; a high school hallway; a school dance; and that one special kiss.

Im a guy with a very particular view of life... im not quite sure what that view is just yet, but when I find out I'll be sure to let you know...
