KONA Music X District July 2018 – Reviewed.

This weekend the KONA music collective return for round two at their brand new venue in Cape Town, District. We headed down to their venue launch last month for one helluva shakedown. Being massive KONA fans you can bet we’ve been to our fair share of club nights back at Modular. While we loved the previous club, their first event at District absolutely blew us away. The space and bar are undeniably lush, while the DJ booth is most certainly a one up!

Last month, industry legend and event co-founder Ryan Sullivan headlined the night in celebration of his latest Triplefire Music EP release Dusty/Hole. Opening for Sullivan was resident DJ Hans Zen and local rising producer Deep Aztec who absolutely slayed their sets and had the floor packed before 11 pm. Our MCBN Hamper winner and his pose enjoyed their VIP booth right by the stage. The overall feel of the new space feels well suited to the ethos of the event, giving KONA an even more signature feel from all the club nights that take place at only one club.

This Saturday we head back for round two in another exciting edition of KONA Music. This month features two special guests – headliner and Wolfkop Weekender co-founder, Richard Marshall and Triplefire fam, Emmzet returns to the Mother City with an exclusive EP set for release tomorrow. Check out last months celebration below and get your hands on tickets to KONA – Richard Marshall right here. See you soon!
