The world of music mourns an icon today. Kieth Flint lead singer of the popular electronic band The Prodigy has been found dead at age 49 at his home in Dunmow Essex this Monday morning. It was later confirmed by band members that Flint had taken his own life.
The Prodigy first emerged in the underground rave scene in the early 1990s and went on to release trademark hits such as Firestarter, Smack My Bitch Up, Breathe, Invaders Must Die and many more. The group was dubbed the “Godfathers of rave” and released their last album in November 2018 titled ‘No Tourists.’
In a statement released, officials said that they were “called to concerns for the welfare of a man just after 08:00 GMT. Sadly, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.” [UPDATE: Band members confirm that the late Keith Flint committed suicide.]
