Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker Star in New Film About Tupac and Biggie Murders.

Over the decades there have been countless small budget documentaries and films about the lives and deaths of both Rap superstars Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur. Both icons dominated the golden era of hip-hop and rap in the 90s and represented opposite coasts and record labels and ultimately after years of feuding, both died under suspicious circumstances that many people today still speculate are somehow related.

City of Lies is an upcoming biopic that tells the story of former LAPD detective Russell Poole who worked on the case of both rappers deaths and who teams up with reporter Jack Jackson two decades later to try and solve the murders. It is based on the book LAbyrinth by Randall Sullivan which focuses on the murder investigations of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G and the all the police and city corruption that was involved.

The film stars Johnny Depp, Forest Whitaker, Rockmond Dunbar, and more, and is set for release later this year on  September 7th, 2018. Watch the enthralling trailer below.
