Johnny Clegg is a national treasure here in South Africa and whenever he does step up on stage, everyone takes the time to get their “White Zulu” on. He’ll be making a return to the Mother City, Cape Town with a series of very rare unplugged performances at The Baxter Theatre in September of this year.
The intimate show will include storytelling by Johnny Clegg, where he’ll talk about the events in his life, political history of South Africa and the world at that time, which motivated him to write that particular piece of music. Johnny Clegg has sold more than five million albums worldwide and has won a number of national and international awards for his music and for his outspoken views on apartheid and migrant workers in South Africa in the past. He has released two dozen albums, is a dancer, anthropologist, singer, songwriter, academic, activist and French knight and will always give the audience a show to remember.
If you’re into some African storytelling don’t miss out on this exclusive intimate event running at The Baxter Theatre in Cape Town this September.
