It Looks Like Rave Is Making a Comeback in Ukraine

It Looks Like Rave Is Making a Comeback in Ukraine - this doccie has a deep look into the country's rave revolution

Ukrainian Rave

We grew up listening to electronic music and spend hours in dark rooms, handing it out back rubs to random girls dressed like unicorns as part of the rave culture explosion here at MyCityByNight, which is why we came across this awesome documentary by ID about the Ukrainian underground rave revolution, it tickled our fancy.

If you haven’t been following the news – Ukraine has been having a bit of a hard time since the 2014 revolution with the country having fallen into disarray amid protests and violence from it’s citizens.

One guy called Slava Lepsheev lost his job during the crises and decided to throw his own raves called CXEMA at any venues he could find around the city in a bid to give the youth a place to express themselves… through fashion and rave! This doccie gives us an insight into a day in the life of the CXEMA collective and the process of organising a proper rave in Kiev.
