THE SPOKEN WORD:

Born and bred in Pretoria, Itumeleng left to the VAAL after matric to study further at VAAL University. It all started for Pro Monate when he was part of a choir, Reflex Praise, where he then went on to become an MC for events, become a well known radio personality and a voice-over artist before we got to witness the release of his first official solo single “Oshota Kabokae” in 2018 which was a fusion on Gqom and piano.

Pro recently won the “Trace Amapiano” competition and he’s just had his hit single released on music streaming platforms such as JOOX. This isn’t all for the Jozi musician as he has just completed the music video for ‘Gigaba’ which will be releasing soon.

THE SCOOP:

Tell us about yourself in 3 words?

Pro: Versatile, funny and a team player.

Tell us about your journey. How did it all start for you?

Pro: From joining a Choir back home that’s when Thabo Ramaphoko and The late Tebogo Blos taught me everything about music stage and the art of performance, leading to me joining the worship team for SCO in university and from singing I went in to MC events and I joined the NO1 community Radio station in the VAAL (VUTFM) where I’m currently doing Drive and as an MC I went on to record and release my first solo single last year titled Oshota ka bokae and to the succession of the song I went on to record Gigaba of which is my current single that won the Trace Amapiano competition.

One person you’d like to work with as an artist?

Pro: DJ Maphorisa

Advice for dreamers and newbies trying to hone their craft?

Pro: To the Dreamers, all I can say is: “aspire to inspire before you expire “ and always remember to keep God in all your plans.

What can we expect in the weeks to come?

Pro: We will be shooting a music video with Trace and we just dropped Gigaba so we looking to drop more visuals and more music for SA and the World and yeah just expect big Moves big announcements and a new Wave to the “Yanos” (Amapiano)

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
