Name: Ebenhaezer Smal
THE SPOKEN WORD
One of the brainchildren of the first mass-electro movements in South Africa, Haezer is the stuff of legend. A project stemmed deep into a sound profile in a category on its own, you must find the time to listen to this live. A down-to-earth individual with a stage presence like no-other he is the head of what I’d like to call the “Electronic Music Hierarchy”. Trust us when we say that it is a bucket-list journey to be experienced at least once… or maybe twice… or maybe more… but trust us. Its nothing like you’ve seen!

4) Advice For The Dreamers, Trendsetters & Up N’ Comers Out There?
Eben: Don’t compete, create something new and unique. keep your eye on the prize, believe you’ll get it, but make bloody sure you’re ready when the opportunity comes. All art springs out of passion and expression, but sharing that expression comes at a cost. Be 100% sure you’re happy with your tracks before pitching and releasing it, first impressions last. Making a career out of your art must be sustainable, so don’t neglect the other aspects of your career like social media, a good management team, reliable booking agent and a live or dj show that stands out.
5) What does Haezer have going on currently? What can we look forward to?
Eben: I have a single coming out, featuring Yesterday’s Pupil, on the new Mahtrasher Records Compilation, a remix for Corvad and currently looking for a good label to release my next two singles. I’ve done the music and sound design for 3 short films directed by Ryan Kruger and hopefully will get more involved with composing for film this year. I’m planning a national tour and working on a UK and US tour for later this year. I also want to do more ‘making a beat’ videos just for shits and giggles.
