Live the dream, reach for the stars, aim higher! Its a motto I have come to live by and with the help of those around you, I promise you can exceed even your own expectations. Troy Evason of Geometric Flux is straight up one of the peaks of this analogy. A humble, down-to-earth person who has kept his head down and smashed Cape Town so hard he has become one of the most requested artists on dancefloors all over SA. Having experienced him in person allows one to understand that there’s more to just the basics of music but a journey both internally and with the people experiencing what you do as an artist. His urge to push beyond the horizon has given us the almighty ITW (Into The Wild) Experience which has brought down artists such as Perfect Stranger, Talpa, Basscannon & Royal Flush. There’s so much more to come… Keep your eyes peeled!

1) Describe Yourself In Three Words

Troy: Obsessive… Compulsive… Disorder

2) Dream Festival?

Troy: Ozora Festival in Hungary is always my favorite, to me it’s the best festival in the world. There is a special kind of magic that develops in those meadows which simply inspires me each time I get the opportunity to go.

Troy: Somewhere I have not yet been, but have heard only amazing things about, is Rainbow Serpent Festival in Australia, so for now this is the dream.

3) Your Fave Release Of All Time & Artist To Watch Out For?

Troy: The Ott ‘Skylon’ album is something I can’t go too long without listening to, it’s really beautiful, but then again everything Ott makes is pretty surreal.

Troy: Sphera from Iboga Records. He played one of the most impressive sets at the Universo Paralello in Brazil, and has a new track coming out with Perfect Stranger, which got played for the first time anywhere in the world at the most recent Into the Wild.

4) Advice For The Dreamers, Trendsetters & Up N’ Comers Out There?

Troy: Focus on your intention, why is it you are doing what you are doing? Are you doing it simply for the notoriety? If you are, you will enviably fail. If you are trying to create something new, elevate others experience, and share epic moments with a dance floor, the opportunities to do just that will come your way.

5) When is the next Into the Wild scheduled for, and what can we expect from it?

Troy: 12 May we will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary, this edition goes under the name, ‘The Woodlands’. You can expect long sets, and for us to continue pushing our organic psytech musical style, the response to which has been warmly received. The vision has always been to remain fresh and present Cape Town with an experience unlike any other, so we hope to celebrate our birthday with you all in May, no doubt it will get emotional!
