THE SPOKEN WORD
Global culture was the first words I picked up when looking through Dean’s fan page and that could be one of the many ways to understand what he aims to achieve with his vibrant yet dark brainchild known as D_Know. A monarch to his journey we’ve had the opportunity to follow Dean’s exploits from the very beginning and we are not surprised if he surpasses what he has done in 2017 in just a few months. A beacon of light to those around us and another name up on the list of the #newageartistmovement. D_Know is a force to be reckoned with… He has got our stamp of approval and we have no doubt that his sound will inspire you as well.
THE SCOOP
1) Describe Yourself In Three Words
Dean: Driven, Stubborn, Humble.
2) Dream Festival?
Dean: Dream festival to play would have to be Dekmantel Amsterdam, whilst dream festival to attend would be Dimensions.
3) Your Fave Release Of All Time?
Dean: Jeepers, talk about a tough question. My mind changes constantly on this topic… So to prevent my own confusion, I’m going to limit my answer to EPs and singles…
Dean: I’m gonna have to go with Wax – #20002
Dean: Shed is one of my favorite producers of all time, and his Wax alias blew my mind the first time I heard it. It really inspired me to transition to where I am today. I remember downloading it illegally many years ago, but now I’m happy to say I own it on vinyl! hahah
4) Artist To Watch Out For?
Dean: Locally – Vicmari and Black Lake. Both operate somewhat under-the-radar. They are young and super talented and definitely worth keeping an eye on. Also, Black Lake released on my label, but that doesn’t mean I’m biased – just give it a listen
Dean: Abroad – Kuf and Dold. These guys are talented beyond their years! They have an amazing hardware live show and run a fantastic label. I’m trying to keep up with them
5) Advice For The Dreamers, Trendsetters & Up N’ Comers Out There?
Dean: Persevere through the tough times. My career is still young, but I’ve already had my fair share of crises. Let your love of what you do guide you through, and, well, if don’t actually love what you do, just don’t do it at all! And as an ‘up ’n comer’ myself, those words play through my mind all the time.
