For the first time ever, legendary, British rock band, The Cure will perform live in South Africa next year with two tour dates taking place in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Formed in Crawley, West Sussex, in 1976, the band fast become known as part of the post-punk and new wave movements that had sprung up in the wake of the punk rock revolution in the United Kingdom. During the early 1980s, the band’s increasingly dark and tormented music (as well as Smith’s stage look) was a staple of the emerging style of music known as gothic rock.
The Cure went on to become one the most loved bands of the punk rock era and will now perform for the first time in South Africa, giving longtime fans a rare chance to see one of the worlds most iconic bands live. The group will perform live in Jozi and Cape Town next year at Rock on The Lawns. Tickets are currently on sale right here.
