We are the bearers of bad news this morning. HVOB, set to headline the much anticipated, Lighthouse Festival taking place in Cape Town and Johannesburg this month, have cancelled both shows due to lead singer, Anna’s health. The HVOB member has been experiencing problems from a previous ear-related injury which she still hasn’t fully recovered from. Anna’s doctors have advised her not to travel or perform until she is completely healed.
The festival announced the cancellation yesterday after awaiting a final call from the band. FKA Mash will headline Johannesburg this year while one of the most talented producers SA has ever seen, Jazzuelle will make his way to Cape Town for the headline slot. Read statements from both Lighthouse Festival and Anna below.
Message from Anna [HVOB]
I wish you all the best time at Lighthouse Festival. the people who are doing it are my family and I know they put all their love and passion into it. I was a tiny part of building this festival from the very beginning, so if you want to help me heal more quickly, please go there and have the best time. support the artists, their music and help to grow LHF so we can come back to one of their next editions.
At the moment I am so sad but I know I will see you again soon.
