Hulu Drops Their Own FYRE Festival Documentary Days Before Netflix Release Theirs

Last year both networks [Hulu and Netflix] announced they would both be creating a documentary centred around the disastrous Fyre Festival and the scammers, Ja Rule and Billy McFarland, who created it.

Last week Netflix released their trailer for their Fyre Festival Documentary and in a bid for viewership, Hulu went and released their full documentary titled Fyre Fraud yesterday. The release comes unannounced and ahead of Netflix’s release which is scheduled for the 18th January 2019.

Fyre Fraud [Hulu’s documentary] features an exclusive interview with Billy McFarland, a bonus that the Netflix production won’t have. Hulu told Entertainment Today it hopes its documentary – directed by Emmy-nominated, Peabody-winning filmmaking team Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason-  “will provide enlightening context ahead of [co-executive producer Elliot] Tebele’s Netflix documentary.”
