A few years ago, three South Africans from Durban – cousins Luke MacDonald and Jordan Deall (an environmental scientist and filmmaker), along with their cameraman, Donovan set out on the adventure of a lifetime to realise their shared dream of finding the legendary creature of the Congo River basin, ‘Mokele-Mbembe’. Soon their journey turned into 10-part docuseries called ‘Hitched.‘
The series was picked up by Discovery Africa in 2018 and aired on the channel. The journey saw the group travel 15 000 km across ten countries via 92 rides in just 107 days
Now, the trio of South Africans are hitchhiking over 28 000 km to get to The Ellen Degeneres Show in Los Angeles, to get on her famous couch and tell the talk show star about their documentary and incredible adventures. Despite all their content, apparent phone calls and social media tags, it doesn’t seem like Ellen knows about their journey yet. According to their Hitched Instagram account, the boys are currently in Russia and where they’ve found a boat heading for the United States. Watch a short montage of their journey so far below and find out how you can help out.
Hey Ellen, we are just calling to check if you have been getting our messages and also just to make sure you keep a space on the couch for us. We’ve got a couple of stories to tell you. Anyway, let us know when you get this. Love you Lots. Ok. Bye.”
Help the boys from Hitched get on The Ellen Degeneres Show by sharing their content, tagging Ellen and using the hashtag #HeyEllen. Be sure to check out their Instagram and Twitter for more updates on their adventures.
