Get to know co-owner of label house 'Maeve' and Wolfkop Headliner The Drifter ahead of 'Power Flower Picnic'

Mark Flynn aka The Drifter is a DJ, producer, singer and the co-owner of the internationally acclaimed record label Maeve. Born in Ireland and now based in Berlin, Flynn dabbled in different musical pursuits growing up – from bands and choirs to folk and traditional but his love for electronic music was born later on from ventures into Dublin nightlife. Flynn released his first solo work, the ‘Lovers’ EP on Permanent Vacation in late 2012. It received excellent feedback with James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem calling the E.P ” really nice, gentle and strong.”

The Drifter’s style, like his productions, definitely lean towards the hypnotic, melodic and emotive side of electronic music. No matter what genre he is playing. House, Techno or Disco. Flynn honed his craft from hours of DJing in bars and clubs and even running club nights. One such night was the popular ‘Passion Beat’ – a night Flynn ran in Berlin for over 3 years with his friend and label co-founder Mano Le Tough. It gathered a loyal, steady following and quickly became known for the two resident DJ’s and the guest artists they booked.
