I’ve got a few mates who live out in PTA who are always complaining that there is literally nothing to do in the city. The Regional Market at the Voortrekker Monument is a homemade and fresh produce market that is aimed at curing the stifling boredom experienced in Pretoria.
You can expect: Homemade boerewors, pork, hamburger patties, pork rashers, mutton, eggs, biltong, tripe and many other South African favourites. In addition the Regional Market has a Beer Garden and Lust & Vrede wine stall, Coffee and Pancake stal,l Freshly baked bread, biscuits, croissants and rusks, pies and koeksisters. On the crafty side of things you can look forward to genuine leather hand bags, shoes, modern clothing, table cloths, place mats and a selection of well-crafted jewellery.
It’s a great way to spend a day at one of the country’s cultural heritage sites if you’re in the area.
The Voortrekker Monument’s Regional Market will take place on Saturday, 3rd May 2014 from 08h00 to 14h00.
