German Town Left in A Sweet Mess After a Massive Chocolate Spill

The streets of Westoennen, Germany, in the district of Werl were left in a sweet mess after a “small technical defect” in a storage container at the DreiMeister chocolate factory caused tons of chocolate to spill out onto the streets.

As soon as the sugary lava hit the cold roads it quickly hardened causing a whole bunch of logistical problems. Apparently, if the spillage had occurred any closer to Christmas time it would have caused literal havoc.

25 firefighters have been working feverishly to melt, chisel and scrape away the rock hard chocolate in time for the busy weeks.
