The Gautrain, although it’s been slow with expansion, it has become an integral part of many Gauteng residents daily lives since it first launched back in June 2012.
Last year the GMA announced that it would be conducting a feasibility study into the expansion of the network and stated they would also need twelve new train sets. The new routes would include stops at Lanseria and East Rand Mall in Johannesburg as well stops at Mamelodi and Irene in Pretoria.

Can we get gautrain in vereeniging (vaal) please. It’s also gauteng province but seems like it’s forgotten in everything
We will get access of buses to Cosmo city
For sure the Vaal is forgotten in all development it’s just Gauteng by word of mouth but the worst place you can ever view in Gauteng everything is old except for only Vaal mall please bring the Gautrain we are also people and can manage to use it.
Why will the Gautrain not make stops at Eersterust travelling from Waltloo trainstations, and Silverton Treinstations?
Many people from Mamelodi uses the Waltloo train station directly opposite Eersterust.
Or do the Gautrain Management Feasibility Team not deem residents of Eersterust and Silverton possible clients of Gautrain.
I know for a fact that there is many people of Eersterust and Silverton that uses the Gautrain as a means of transport.
To there work, back home, and other destinations.
Please Reconsider this proposal of yours to include these train stations Waltloo and Silverton, as well.
Kind Regards.
Wow…great new. JHB North development rocks
It’s not a good idea to have the Gautrain in Mameloadi. Mamelodi steals cables. You’ll be spending so much money repairing it just like the robots.
Indeed thats a bad move, soon the Gautrain will have omangobe, robbers & security guards threatened.
