We’ve all seen the buzz around WeChat in the last couple of months, and the hype is not for nothing. WeChat announced today that they have surpassed 70 million registered user accounts outside China. And with over 400 million users worldwide – more than any other mobile communication platform – they must be onto something good.

To keep this up; they’ve started a global campaign that features football superstar, Lionel Messi. He joins their impressive team of ambassadors, including musicians, artists, fashion icons and VIPs.

If you’re keen on getting videos, voice messages and photos from Messi, you can – by downloading WeChat and adding his official account ID: MessiOfficial.

WeChat is free and offers unique features like a “Hold to Talk” feature, video chat, as well as image, video and music sharing. You can also choose to communicate one-on-one, or within closed social networks through the “Moments” feature.

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter to find out more about what they have to offer.

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
