I’ve always been a bit of a fan of the Foo Fighters and front man Dave Grohl (originally of Nirvana fame), which is why when I saw a few clips of their latest documentary I felt that I just had to share. On August 1, the Foo Fighters released a 40-minute documentary of their intimate tour around the USA, which involved the band playing in the garages of diehard fans. It really is awesome to see musicians that put their fans first!
Earlier this year, fans could enter the garage tour competition, and winners received a free concert by the band in their garages plus a chance to perform and drink beer with the famed rockers alongside 50 of their closest friends. The tour consisted of eight dates coast to coast- I mean come on… how friggin awesome is that?!!
Last month, Foo Fighters released the full-length documentary Back and Forth as a digital iTunes release and a DVD and Blu-ray release. The film, directed by Academy Award-winner James Moll, spans the band’s 16-year career, chronicling their rise to Grammy Award-winning fame.
Fronted by Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters just scored their first number one album in the US with their latest release, Wasting Light. The album, which dropped April 11 in the UK and April 12 in the US, peaked in first place in 11 other countries, including the UK and Australia, and has been the band’s most successful album to date”.
