Tyler Durden will be returning in a sequel to the cult classic Fight Club in the Summer of 2015. In an interview with the story’s creator, Chuck Palahniuk confirmed the news that we’ll get to see one of the best characters ever dreamt up make a triumphant return and dished some detail in an interview with Huslter (is that still around?) about the plot of the upcoming film:
‘The sequel will be told from the– at first– submerged perspective of Tyler Durden as he observes the day-to-day tedium of the narrator’s life. Because 20th Century-Fox created the convention of calling the protagonist Jack, I’m calling him Cornelius. He’s living a compromised life with a failing marriage, unsure about his passion for his wife. The typical midlife bullshit. Likewise, Marla is unsatisfied and dreams of accessing the wild man she’d once fallen in love with. She tampers with the small pharmacy of drugs that her husband needs to suppress Tyler, and– go figure– Tyler reemerges to terrorize their lives’.
Sounds like it’s got all the ingredients for a juicy follow up to what is in my opinion still one of the best stories ever to be told. I’ll be sharing updates around the plot and some of the other characters as I get them – 2015 is still a long way away! Who is amped?
