Federer vs. Nadal Cape Town charity match tickets sold out in 10 minutes

Tickets for the much-anticipated ‘Match in Africa’ – which will see Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal go head to head in a charity match in Cape Town next year- went on sale this morning, September 4th, at 9 am via Computicket and are now officially sold out!

Tickets which started at R150 to R1 950 for courtside seats and were limited to six tickets per person reportedly sold out in under 10 minutes according to Computicket.

The Grand Slam champions will face off at 8 PM on February 7, 2020, at the Cape Town Stadium to raise funds for education in Africa. Federer and Nadal will aim to set a world record for the most attendees at a tennis match.

The current attendance record for a tennis match is at 35 681. The record was set at an exhibition game in Brussels between Belgian Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams in 2010. Cape Town Stadium has a capacity of 55 000 and that’s where Nadal and Federer are hoping to break the record – and it looks like they just did!
