Collectively producing since 1998, they’ve had over 50 releases on various high profile Drum & Bass, Hardcore, Electro and Dubstep labels such as Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak, Rob Playford’s legendary Moving Shadow, Dieselboy’s Human, Black Sun Empire Recordings and Excision’s Rottun. Apart from their busy production schedule, they’re playing out constantly. 2011 saw them DJ in 18 countries.
Algorythm Recordings, their own label, was launched in 2005 and include releases from artists such as Curre
Damage Inc, two-man Drum and Bass outfit. After working together for an extended length of time, they developed the “Damage Inc” alias, and are seeing immediate success!
Guns blazing, these two gents entered the underground, alternative Drum n Bass scene with one goal, and one sound in mind. Producing under the alias since 2010, they’ve secured releases world-wide and have original music forthcoming on major DnB labels from the USA to UK. Their sound can be distinctively identified and separated from the rest. With DnB being the backbone, they’ve added Hardcore and Tech to the mix. Psychedelic licks and high-energy power Drum and Bass!
Running their own imprint and events company – Devastation Records – puts them firmly on the ever-delivering edge with bi-monthly events and monthly releases from themselves and affiliated artists with the same sound in mind.
**South Africas Highest Ranking Dubstep l Drumstep Artist – DJ Mag **
Welcome to the Filthy side of South African Drumstep! After already having his Tracks played by some of the biggest artists in the world, having it played inside the Beatport Studios Live and being signed to a compilation for one of the worlds biggest record labels “MAD DECENT” and recently charting Beatport in Dubstep and Drum and Bass, this is just the beginning for the filth monster! (We Hope)
Brutal Basslines , Random Themes , Tempo changes and the sounds of satan taking a shit is pretty much how you can describe the crazy antics of the Grimehouse sound…..Check it out!
For every person, something changes within them once they hear their first electro song. An awakening occurs. A passion begins. Some enjoy the party and appreciate good music; others make it a lifestyle. Something changed in the wee little German lad all those years ago; praising a mixtape, Crookers brought him to life. The German lad put DJ Sammy and Evermore aside, for far better beats to live for.
Cape Town’s electronica scene exploded. With parties hosted by Arcade, Untamed Youth and Rub-A-Dub-Something bringing a regular installment of sex music to the children of Cape Town, a following grew and amidst the crowd, young wee Blitzkrieg found his calling. Beginning as a mixer, inspired by Crookers, Blitzkrieg’s DJing style evolved with the scene; dabbling in drum and bass and dubstep, until finally settling on a distinct and versatile sound.
Every musician starts out in someone or others basement, and after having played at several house parties, Blitzkrieg had his first taste of the limelight. After winning a spot on the Brickcity line up, Blitzkrieg commanded the Fiction Dj booth, delivering a flawless set to a room of eager sweaty beatfreaks. From there, his career has flourished; a regular at Dansville, a collaboration with LG Fritz and Jonny Robotix, has seen Blitzkrieg join the Fukk It crew in hosting regular parties all over Cape Town and delivering a serious mix of electro, dubstep and the like.
Making the jump from mixing to producing, a promising future as on of Cape Town’s up and coming DJ’s awaits the wee German lad. Blitzkrieg will deliver a mess of original sound; distortion of hair raising quality and beats to jolt your pulse. Don’t wander about in the breaks, get lost in the music.
‘Blitzkrieg’ literally means ‘lightning war,’ and he’s going to burn this city down.
All the sweaty 20-somethings are demanding his encore. If you can hear them, you’ve been at the bar too long…
Half-Life Was born and bred in the city Cape Town, South Africa and had been on the Dubstep and Drum & Bass scene, since the beginning of 2010. In a short but rapidly moving career he has been rising up the ranks of all things bass. and has become a regular name in the realms of dubstep in South Africa. With his trademark dirty sounds and his intoxicating presence he has pushed himself to higher levels and is a true ambassator to the local and international dance culture.
He just recently started to produce his own Dubstep tunes ,riddled with exciting sounds, clever drops, neat builds, driving basslines, soaring leads, and epic pads. With Influences from Noisia, Figure, Datsik, Skrillex there is always a unique edge that is definitely the sound of Half Life: hard and driving, while still maintaining a melodic feel. It is intelligent in structure, and contains minimalist elements of glitch and Electro. As an Artist His song choice and style of mixing is something definitly not to be missed!
Darkow takes you on an exhilarating, breathtaking ride, performing with such a passion and love for his music. He can even get the metal heads dancing! He delivers the filthiest tracks, the most melodramatic performance, enticing his audience with big chart hits followed by massive drops and dubstep breakdowns. This I would call a journey of dark vs. light and one sure not to be missed.
Dubstep SA: “Pretty epic, Deathstep Industrial madness.”
Raised by Wookiees. Breastfed by bears. Marci X.
With a strong passion for a wide variety of music and childhood dream of always wanting to become a DJ, Marci X set out to bring the dirt, as well as the illest sets in the north.
Marci X started DJ’ing from the age of 18, after many years of dabbling with the electronic genre as well as being the front man of Durbanville’s Deathcore sensation, “Lines of Separation”.
