Dune 2020: Trailer, Concept Art And More

Dune 2020

The long-awaited first trailer for Dune was released on Wednesday and fans were quick to express their excitement on social media.

The film is based on the 1965 novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. “Dune” has already been made into a movie in 1984 (directed by David Lynch) and a miniseries back in 2000. While fans of Dune may always have a place in their heart for Lynch’s first take on the ambitious fantasy epic, there seems to be unified excitement that Dune 2020, directed by Denis Villeneuve will be the film that truly does the novel justice.

According to reports and fans, Dune 2020 looks like it will primary focus of the first half of the novel which will most likely allow for a lot more character development than previous adaptions. With Villeneuve’s renowned work in Sci-Fi (Arrival and Bladerunner: 2049) it’s no surprise that the visuals for Dune 2020 are breathtaking. Fans were even more excited to find the concept art and designs for Dune 2020, specifically for the spaceships, adhere closely to what is described in the novel.

For those who are not familiar with the novel, understanding the planets, customs, and people of ‘Dune’ can be a bit overwhelming, but at its core, Dune is a coming-of-age story, set in the far future, which follows a young man – Duke Leto Atreides- and his family as they try to survive on a new hostile planet.

Dune 2020 stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, and more. The film is set to premiere in December.
