DStv has finally launched its standalone streaming service. Earlier this year MultiChoice announced its plans to launch a Netflix-like streaming platform which would essentially do away with the need for both a satellite dish and decoder.

The dishless service called DStv streaming will allow customers to subscribe and watch all channels via the DStv app on all devices including smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles or smart televisions.

Customers can also watch shows on Catch Up on up to four devices, with a maximum of two concurrent streams.

According to DStv, the device/s used should be linked to a high-speed internet connection for the best viewing experience.

The current packages available for DStv streaming are:

  • DStv Premium
  • DStv Compact Plus
  • DStv Compact
  • DStv Family
  • DStv Acces
  • DStv EasyView

β€œThe option to use the internet to consume content speaks to how DStv continues to diversify its offerings with a clear intention to drive value and convenience for our customers.” – Nyiko Shiburi, chief executive of MultiChoice South Africa.
