Dean Fuel launches his ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ Podcast

Welcome to the first episode of Dean Fuel's podcast series: 'Let's Go Dancing'

Dean Fuel has been a pioneer of the South African electronic music scene for many years. He’s played on every single festival you can think of and at almost every club over the past decade. A legend of the scene, he continues to push boundaries, challenging himself to do more!

Recently Dean released his latest project, the Let’s Go Dancing podcast. We decided to chat him briefly about this podcast, and what you can expect from it.

  1. Why did you launch this podcast:

The inspiration for doing the mix series mainly came from wanting a place where fans could enjoy all my latest music on a regular basis, not only live on a dance floor, but in their own time – at home, in the gym, the car, at the beach, a house party – wherever! I’m always asked by people about tracks I play, and “where can I hear more of the kind of music YOU play” – so I figured what better than a podcast!

Another motivation was as a response to my disappointment at the overall state of local radio, and the programming of music… It has felt too confused, too erratic! Rather than just bitch and complain, I wanted to add my own creative input to the music world – done my way.

Podcasts are nothing new – but I believe that there is a great opportunity to give something back to my fans, and hopefully create some new music lovers out there!

  1. What is “Let’s Go Dancing”

Let’s Go Dancing started out as an idea – a call to action of sorts! Appealing to the pure side of electronic dance music and DJing! … No politics, no bullshit, just the essence of what it should be about – great music, that makes you want to dance, and connect!

As a podcast series, it will be a home for all things Dean Fuel music related, featuring the best of my collection in House, Tech House, Techno and Progressive. A one-stop shop to get your fix of these genres with my touch!

  1. How are you laying out this series of podcasts?

I’m keeping it to a 1 hour mix, to really hold people’s attention (people ahve a short attention span out there! haha) I will have 2 main sections – the “House Party” and the “Rave Cave” for the more underground edgier music. I will also have 2 special track features each show: “Fire” – the hottest track, and “Encore” – a classic anthem … a throwback for what inspired me to be a DJ in the first place!

#LetsGoDancing will be available all over the Internet – on iTunes, Mixcloud, Soundcloud, and even YouTube. I didn’t want anyone to have limited access to the shows.

Who knows, maybe one day I will get it syndicated to an online radio broadcaster – which would be cool, opening to an even wider audience. So far the response has been brilliant, and I’m already working on the next episode – so look out for that!

Rumoured to have the blue-prints for Krang's TechnoDrome, stolen straight from Dimension X, he’s the type of guy who exudes so much coolness that he adds whole countries on Facebook at one time instead of just people. Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
