The global soda-drink conglomerate, Coca-cola has released an alcoholic beverage for the very first time breaking an almost 130-year-old tradition.
Alcopop launched this month in Japan and is neither a beer or soda but rather a lemony-fizz type drink that seems to be really popular with the Japenese. Over 6000 people have sampled it so far and the response has been fantastic with consumers dubbing it as “refreshing”.
The east seems like an ideal ground for brands to experiment compared to that in the west with Coco-Cola Japan releasing over 100 new products a year – that’s incredible! We sure hope Alcopop makes it’s way to SA soon.
