To commemorate 140 years of Scottish heritage artists, fans of the brand, and fashion enthusiasts have all been commissioned by Lyle & Scott to create an original masterpiece as part of The 140 Series.
You’re invited to submit one artwork that represents your chosen year between 1874 and 2014, with each of the final 140 pieces of artwork then used to construct a timeline that represents Lyle & Scott’s success and innovation in fashion since 1874. Once all entries have been submitted and a final list is chosen, the 140 artworks will be available to view on the South Africa Lyle & Scott website, with viewers given the option to bid for the artwork of their choice in the live auction on the 10th of September.
The artists involved will receive full profit from their artwork and in addition to this, the pieces of artwork that fetch the three highest bids will receive: R5000, R3000, and R2000, respectively. To support this creative series, the advertising agency DDB will also offer two six month paid internships to student participants.
If you’ve got some artist flair, get working on your submission. Find out more on Lyle & Scott’s local website.
