Cece Peniston, Sybil and Robin S live in SA

CeCe Peniston

I’ve noticed a trend of late with several established artists and industry legends getting performance fit and embarking on Global tours to distant markets who have long since been big supporters of their music. Whether this is a product of capitalism with these artists wanting to squeeze the last bit of cash out of the market or some really savvy marketing, promotion and booking is yet to be seen. This time around it’s the US R&B divas who get the chance to show just why they are still so popular.

I pretty much grew up listening to hits from American R&B Singer CeCe Peniston. Her signature tune ‘Finally’ went on to become one of the biggest dance singles ever produced, selling over three million copies worldwide.

New York singer and songwriter Robin S enjoyed chart success with hit singles ‘Show me the love’ and Luv 4 Luv and American R&B-pop singer Sybil is best known for her covers of Dionne Warwick’s hits such as ‘Don’t make me over’ and ‘Walk on by’.  Other fan favourites include ‘When I’m good and ready’ and her version of ‘The love I lost’. The Soul Divas will be supported by the all-female New York City Orchestra, which makes the evening a unique celebration of soul and female talent.

Carnival City’s show starts at 8.30pm and GrandWest at 8.00pm tickets are available from Computicket between R325 and R575.
