“It is music and dancing that make me at peace with the world”. Nelson Mandela

The Cape Town World Music Festival invites you to come dance and celebrate with an array of diverse cultures and performers at The Cape Town City Hall on Mandela Day weekend, 18 – 19 July.

The Cape Town World Music Festival, endorsed by the City of Cape Town and The World Design Capital, adds it’s offering to the bright light of the prolific Mr. Mandela by hosting music from around the world – from the traditional to the modern, from roots to electronic. Weaving together carefully curated music from various continents, cultures and histories.

This year features artists from across South Africa, Mali, USA, China, Uruguay, Mozambique, Colombia and more across three stages. Among the first exciting announcements, Cape Town World Music Festival invites: Vieux Farka Toure (Mali) Thandiswa Mazwai, and DJ Clock ft. Beatenberg to this year’s festival!

Expect brilliantly lit stages, a lantern lit venue illuminating music from the past, present and future. Participating artists and industry innovators will be giving free talks and master classes in and around the festival.
