Cape Town Voted Fourth Out of 42 Most Affordable Cities To Travel To Worldwide.

The UK’s 11th annual Post Office Holiday Money Report has ranked this year’s most affordable cities to travel to in the world. The report uses data from tourist boards and tour operators to calculate “the average cost of eight staples: a meal for two, a cup of coffee, a bottle of beer, a Coca-Cola, a glass of wine, a bottle of water, sun cream and insect repellent.” The criteria is then measured across 42 cities and resorts to determine the most cost-effective spending per day in each place.

Cape Town was ranked at fourth most affordable with their website stating that “Cape Town, South Africa is the best value long haul destination.” Below is a breakdown of what each city’s staples would cost you. For the full detailed report, visit the Post Office Money website.
