CAPE FIGHT LEAGUE 2 @ Ratanga Junction – 12 MAY 2012

Cape Fight League (CFL), an MMA Fighting league, based in Cape Town, debuted in February of this year with CFL 01. After a successful first event, the league is currently preparing for CFL 02. Ratanga Junction will host the second instalment of the Mother City’s Premier Mixed Martial Arts Fight League on Saturday, 12 May 2012. With a new venue, new MC, and better seating arrangements spectators can look forward to the very best MMA entertainment that Cape Town has to offer.

MMA, as a sport, has enjoyed a major popularity boom in recent years, thanks to the introduction of leagues like UFC and EFC, yet many of our local fighters still lack the chance to test their abilities in the cage. Cape Fight League aims to change this. By hosting tournaments throughout the year, the league will provide these fighters with much needed fighting experience and a platform to showcase their talents. CFL also hopes to grow the sport, giving Cape Fight fans a chance to enjoy Mixed Martial Arts live and up close.

CFL 01 was well received. Fighters put on a great show, eager to prove their skills to each other and to a crowd of close to 1600 people. The night introduced the CFL Ring Girls, featured a battle of hip hop dance crews, and fourteen electrifying fights that had the crowd on their feet for most of the night. Fighters rocked the venue with powerful punches, kicks, takedowns, and an incredible display of courage and heart.

Event organizers are excited to bring to Cape Town CFL 02, which promises to be even better than 1. With fighters voicing their eagerness to return, and even more fighters registering to take part, CFL 02 will not disappoint.

Fourteen top fights, the return of the CFL official  Ring Girls and live entertainment all lead up to the Main Event: A middleweight battle between Quantim Tribe’s Nathan “The Cookie Monster” Raats, and Warren Alison of Industrial Fight Club.

Those attending can also browse and purchase MMA Gear and goodies from an assortment of stalls on site. Food and drink will be on sale all night.

Doors open at 5 pm. Tickets prices range from R100 to R250 and will be available at Computicket.
