We’ve just received word that there’s going to be a 4 city African Tour put together by the Boiler Room X Ballantine’s True Music Africa crew. The True Music Africa Tour is set to kick off later this month in Cape Town on the 23rd of November, heading to Cameroon, Kenya Nairobi and closing off in the city of Jozi next year.
The tour aims to provide exposure for the musicians in each city and get people from the globe to see what is happening in the underground music scene in each of these pockets in Africa. With the first event set to follow later this month in Cape Town, you can look forward to checking out some of the city’s most influential hip hop names like K$, Dope Saint Jude, Youngsta CPT, Aux Womdantso and DJ Lyle.
The tour will culminate in Jozi in July 2018 with the True Music Forum, an event where global leads from the music community are invited to come together to learn from each other and try to push the industry on as a whole through various panel discussions and workshops.
True Music Africa aims to expose artists who have been making strides in their uniquely African genres by featuring them in documentaries and live-streamed events as part of the Boiler Room music movement. The hope is that the World sits up and takes notice of the African scene and strength of what we’re doing on the continent.
