Black Panther Star, Chadwick Boseman Honors a Real-Life Superhero with His MTV Award.

Actor and Marvel Comic superstar Chadwick Boseman may have won the Best Hero award for his part in the blockbuster film Black Panther, but he chose to instead honor a true hero at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards this past Saturday.

Boseman was given the award for Best Hero during the annual ceremony but midway through his acceptance he stopped to honor and invite a real-life hero on stage – James Shaw, the brave man responsible for disarming a gunman during the Waffle House Shooting in April. Boseman then handed his award to Shaw to keep.

Shaw disarmed a violent gunman during a mass shooting at a Waffle House in April that sadly left four people dead and others wounded. He also helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the victims of the shooting and their families in the days following the tragedy. Watch the tear-jerking moment below.
