Black Mirror Season Five Leak Sparks Fan Theories

Netflix dunnit again! The streaming giant has gone and leaked the Black Mirror Season Five release date in quite the same fashion as they did with season four. The science-fiction Twitter account for Netflix [@NXonNetflix] “accidentally” leaked the date and first episode title. If the leak is to be believed, then “Black Mirror” returns on December 28 with an episode called “Bandersnatch.” The tweet has been deleted off Twitter.

In October, reports also surfaced that new episodes of “Black Mirror” would debut before the start of 2019, so the leaked date falls in line with that original report. Not much is known about the new episodes with only one teaser trailer to go on. The fan theories have been streaming in since the latest leak. While “The Bandersnatch” is a fictional character in Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking-Glass” – one incredibly observant fan noted it was also the name of a video game listed on the cover of a fictional magazine in the Season 3 episode “Playtest.”

As it turns out – The “Bandersnatch” game is actually real. It was developed in 1984 but it was never released to the public, the game is also rumoured to have led to the 1986 science-fiction video game “Brataccas.” Set photos and a teaser trailer reveal an 8o’s setting, the same era as “Bandersnatch’s” development. What does all of this mean?

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Related: Black Mirror Season Five Will Allow Fans To Pick An Episode Ending.
