BLACK COFFEE RETURNS TO SHIMMY BEACH CLUB AS A SUMMER RESIDENT

After his mind-blowingly successful residency at Hi Ibiza, multi-award-winning DJ and producer, Black Coffee, returns to Shimmy Beach Club this December for a second season with five exclusive Friday night shows. With his latest gold-rated EP suitably named “The Journey Continues”, Shimmy Beach Club is thrilled to also continue their journey with the now world-renowned, home-grown superstar and welcome him back to the iconic Shimmy stage.

Black Coffee’s residency will form part of Shimmy Beach Club’s annual Summer Calling campaign and is indeed a highlight on the calendar, with all of last year’s shows sold out weeks in advance. The premier party venue balances the style of international party-life and the laid-back atmosphere of Cape Town, making it a stylish venue to rival Ibiza’s beach club scenes, bringing you a taste of the paradise. This year Black Coffee will be joined by the freshest line-up of local DJs including Da Capo and Enoo Napo.

Recognised as the most prominent electronic music producer in Africa, 2017 has seen the Durban born artist’s international success soar to even newer heights. This past September, he won the Best Deep House DJ for the second year in a row at the 2017 DJ Awards in Ibiza. But it was his award in 2015 for the best breakthrough DJ that skyrocketed his international success and our golden boy has been consistently rising to the top ever since – performing at every world-class event from Coachella to Ultra Music Festival. But his biggest feat has to be landing the first ever DJ residency at the highly sought after club Hi, in Ibiza.

But it doesn’t stop there, from the electronic dance paradise of Ibiza; Black Coffee has casually dropped straight into the mainstream, joining the Beats 1 radio station family this year and rubbing shoulders with the likes of DJ Khaled, Drake and Pharrell Williams and more.

Yet perhaps what makes Black Coffee a South African icon is not just his music, talent or fame, but his humble nature that stays intact through it all. When taking to social media to thank fans for the continued support after winning his latest award, he wrote “One more for the culture. Thank you for the votes, love and continued support.”

Black Coffee will be playing at Shimmy Beach Club on Friday 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th December 2017 and Friday 5th January 2018.  Don’t miss this opportunity, tickets are on sale now.
