With Billy McFarland behind bars, you would think that the FYRE Festival saga is over but that’s simply not the case. After defrauding investors out of millions for the infamously failed Fyre Festival, and destroying careers and lives, Mcfarland is back at it again, and this time he’s writing a book.
McFarland’s latest project will be a memoir about his life and will also chronicle the event of the failed festival. The book will reportedly be titled ‘Promythus: The God of Fyre.’
According to reports, McFarland would like to “set the record straight” and have the chance to tell his side of the story as he says he felt misrepresented in both the Netflix and Hulu documentaries.
How Mcfarland plans to defend his dealings and actions in light of the Festival is unclear, plus he’s already missed the expected publishing date for his book which was due in late April 2019. Mcfarland is reportedly hand-writing the book from prison and estimates Promythus will result in around 800 handwritten pages when complete.
In an email to Josh Raab (a prospective publisher for the book), McFarland expresses a sense of urgency to get the book published before the next round of Fyre Fest.
Putting in terms of Wolf of Wall Street, the Festival will not be a one and done event – it’s happening again, so the original story will lose the potential to be told and set the stage if it’s not done before the next events take place.” – McFarland
