If you’ve been living under a rock it might be news to to you that Seed Experiences, 5FM and Nokia are bringing Bastille to South Africa for a series of gigs in Cape Town and Jozi. The local line-up that will be performing alongside Bastille at their Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town and Emmarentia Dam, Jozi gigs have been confirmed:
Bed On Bricks will perform at both Cape Town and the Jozi concert, while Beatenberg and Matthew Mole have been added to the Jozi line-up only. Bed On Bricks will be making their eagerly anticipated comeback after a three-year hiatus. The band’s Dave van der Linden is particularly excited to be performing ahead of Bastille as he shares family ties with Bastille frontman Dan Smith:
“It’s going to be amazing to play as Bed On Bricks again and to perform alongside my own family who are in Bastille. We would like to thank Nokia, 5FM and Seed Experiences for this amazing opportunity to celebrate 10 years together as a band,” says Dave.

Bastille tours SA kicks off with two sold out shows in Cape Town which take place on Wednesday 8 January 2014 and Friday 10 January 2014 at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden from 19h15. There will be no bar facilities so fans are encouraged to bring their own picnic baskets but are reminded that Kirstenbosch is bin free – whatever is brought in must be taken out. Fans are also asked to respect the peace and cleanliness of the residential areas when leaving.
The Jozi leg of the tour will take place on Saturday, 11 January and is a day festival at Emmarentia Dam starting from 12pm. There will be food and drink on sale, but festival goers are also welcome to bring their own picnic baskets. There are still limited tickets available for Joburg.
