Irvine Welsh, author of the cult classic novel ‘Trainspotting‘ says he’s planning to release a house record. The Scottish born author has recently been playing some of his tracks during a promo tour of his new book ‘Dead Men’s Trousers‘, which tell the story of his infamous character Mark Renton (from Welsh’s hit novel, Trainspotting) now running a DJ management company.
It’s not really banging, full-on mad stuff, but it’s a lot of classic acid house – swirling effects and noises and boomy basslines, some of it is pretty groovy. Hopefully, people are going to jump around and have a bop, but you’re not going to have your ears bleeding.” Irvine Welsh – The Scottish Sun
Welsh played a house/techno set at China’s Cockenflap festival last weekend and has previously talked about the impact of club music on his writing and released the short story collection The Acid House (1994). The book was later adapted into a film in ’98. Click the pic below to preview tracks Welsh’s shared and follow his fan page for more on new, upcoming music.
