Att Bodyboarders & Surfers… Check This Mobile App Out!

I came across this awesome new mobile app called Beachwatch and for all you beach lovers, this is for YOU! It is an exciting new mobile application which allows bodyboarders, surfers and water sports enthusiasts in general to moniter surf conditions on the go. The application has a high quality, live video streaming feed from beaches throughout the Cape Peninsula. What I thought is really sick, is that the application is free. It works on all most handsets, which will enable almost anyone to monitor quality camera feeds without having to access a computer. I dug a little deeper and found out some more info on Beachwatch

“In Cape Town’s notoriously temperamental climate, planning that perfect day enjoying the city’s finest surf spots is a tricky exercise in guesswork, with surf and weather conditions often differing substantially from place to place. BeachWatch, an exciting new mobile phone application from iSee Software Solutions, based in Stellenbosch, ensures that the perfect wave is only a click away, bringing the best breaks directly to users’ mobile handsets in real time.

Watersports enthusiasts can now monitor surf conditions on-the-go, utilising BeachWatch’s high-quality, live video streams for beaches throughout the Cape Peninsula. The application offers strategically placed camera feeds at all of the city’s top surfing hotspots, providing custom views of well-known wave breaks from Melkbosstrand to Kommetjie,

The application is free and works across the vast majority of handsets, enabling almost anyone to monitor quality camera feeds without having to access a computer or smartphone device.

Johann Stegmann, CEO of iSee Software Solutions, believes that BeachWatch will revolutionise local surf culture, “Wave hunters now have a one-stop solution to reduce both time and hassle, and can now easily plan their watersports activities around the information provided by the BeachWatch service. Never before has a local solution been provided that supplies real time information on-the-go, and we strongly believe that this application will be invaluable to all watersports aficionados.”

The BeachWatch surf cams are currently available exclusively in Cape Town and surrounds, but will be rolled out to other popular South African surfing destinations in the coming months.

BeachWatch is a cross-platform application, available across the majority of mobile handsets, with an Android Application also available for download.

There’s now no excuse for watersports enthusiasts of every kind to miss that perfect wave.

Always up for a party and a Tequila shot or two this is the guy who we always call first, both before and after a night out…
