Grolsch & art54 invited guests to a cultural experience at Café Caprice on Tuesday 23 December 2014 in celebration of the outdoor artwork that has been created along Cape Town’s Promenade and the Camps Bay shore.
“art54 offers artists a unique opportunity to display the public art they make in the dramatic landscape of the Atlantic Seaboard of Cape Town. Work that promotes new and innovative ways of thinking about art in public spaces, considers their unique landscape, mix of people and character add to the public’s experience of the natural beauty and urban vibe.”
Art In The Bay gave guests the opportunity to mingle with the artists themselves and gain a new understanding of the importance and functionality of art within Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard. Limited edition Grolsch swing-tops and delicious canapés were served while art come to life right within Café Caprice.
“The plan is for Art 54 on the promenade to run for a year, but the hope is that interested parties will approve, and that works could find a more permanent home on the site.” – Terri Dunbar-Curran
