There are a few sports that exist out there that I’m slightly hesitant to try, downhill skating being one of them. Going at ridiculous speeds down massive hills on a skateboard sounds like a really good way to end yourself far ahead of schedule. The clip below is a promo video for James Kelly’s new pro board model shot by the Arbor team and shows just how intense the sport is along with how talented he is as a rider (it also shows a wipeout that’s enough to stop me from trying the sport altogether). James Kelly is called the American Dream in downhill skating circles (no wonder after watching the clip)nand is virtually unmatched in his overall speed and skill.
Born in Petaluma, CA – James grew up riding with some of downhill’s most influential skaters, building his skills along the way. For years, he’s been showing that there’s no road that can’t be conquered on a downhill board. He has perfected his abilities to skate anything at speed, while building the discipline required to keep calm when the consequences are high and the smallest mistakes could be the reason you don’t make it through the day. James is no stranger to the racecourse and podium, yet he’s most at home on the hills surrounding his family cabin in the Western Sierras, where this video was filmed.
