This February London based singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock will be sharing a bill with local artist Lucy Kruger for two special and very intimate performances in Cape Town. One of England’s most enduring contemporary singer/songwriters, Robyn Hitchcock began his career performing folk rock in Cambridge. Hitchcock served as the front man to punk band The Soft Boys beginning in 1976, before leaving to pursue a solo career. He has since recorded more than 20 albums, including Black Snake Dîamond Röle (1981), Globe of Frogs (1988), Goodnight Oslo (2009) and his latest offering, The Man Upstairs (2014).
Robyn is currently traveling through South Africa and will be making a stop in Cape Town. For this special show, he will be performing alongside Emma Swift – a smoky voiced alt-country songstress and award-winning radio broadcaster. Her self-titled debut album was nominated for Best Country Album by the Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards in 2014.
The two musicians will be sharing a bill with Cape Town based singer-songwriter, Lucy Kruger. Lucy is currently working on her third studio album – further exploring her unique brand of psychedelic folk and dream pop. A few of her Lost Boys will be joining her for the evening where they will be performing some of their newer material.
