Ambious Records heads to Long Street on the 2nd of November to showcase their unique offering at one of Cape Town’s finest additions, Oasis on Long.
Featuring some of South Africa’s rising stars who have embedded their sound into the fabric of our local scene, helping to raise the bar of South African music and pushing other artists to reach for the same heights.
The lineup for the Ambious Records showcase at Oasis on Long has been carefully curated to ensure a progression through the different elements that encompass the Ambious Records sound. From the deepest Downtempo and Deep House all the way to the Euphoric, hands in the air Progressive House and Melodic Techno sound that will see us through to the end of the night.
MKLY & Sides
First up on our lineup is none other than local rising stars, Messive Muzik. After their debut release on Ambious Records, the production trio has gone from strength to strength. Making waves across the country and international waters. Honing their sound with home-grown flavor, low-slung grooves and feel good progressions. 2018 has seen Messive Muzik become a driving force in Cape Town’s electronic music scene.
Next up is the urban legend, Pierre Johnson. He is a DJ and Producer hailing from the Mother City. His earlier release “Cure” is a dance floor anthem having spread exponentially in December 2017 and his constant delivery of tracks like “Movin’ On” has led Pierre to being recognised by radio stations and veteran South African DJ’s alike. He is a DJ and producer to watch as his career in the music industry is fast on the rise. With his upcoming remix of Messive Muzik‘s ‘You Know’ on Ambious Records, we are excited to host this amazing talent.
Next up is one of our most unique artists and label co-founder, Nick Supply. Nick stays true to his sound defined by fresh, experimental and feel good music that cannot be confined by any existing genre. With multiple releases on Ambious Records, Nick shows us why he is one of the best in the game.
Last but not least, MKLY & Sides are a production duo from Cape Town that are contributing heavily to South Africa’s electronic music landscape – both individual artists with multiple releases on international labels like Traum Schallplatten, Tommy Boy Entertainment, Loudroom Recordings, Basswalk Records and Solstice Records. Together, they’ve found a way to trap emotion in the groove, writing music with layered progression and harmonic technicality.
