The Hendo Board, created by Jill and Greg Henderson is by all accounts an actual working hoverboard. The board will cost in the region of $10 000 when it goes on sale (if they manage to reach their Kickstarter development funding goal of $250 000), but unfortunately only works on certain surfaces, which means we haven’t quite reached the lofty heights set out by the Back2TheFuture movie series.
The Hendo Board’s inventors are in the process of building a special hoverpark (assuming that’s what a skatepark for hoverboards is called) where people will be able to come and hover once the board goes into full production. Apparently it works by using 4 hover engines that used some magnetic field wizardry to keep the board afloat.
Looks pretty epic!
