A Water Pipe Exploded In Kiev Causing Mass Destruction In The Most Epic Of Ways

Pic shows: The moment of the explosion; This is the moment an underground water pipe exploded creating an eruption of soil, rocks and water that damaged nearby cars and buildings. One person wearing a cream coloured outfit is even seen walking nearby as the huge bulge of soil explodes into the air, destroying windows but incredibly leaving her unharmed. The incident happened in the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev and was caused after one of the cities high-pressure water pipes used to funnel hot water to housing complexes from central heating plants burst. Fortunately the pipe, which normally carries scalding water, was only filled with cold water when it exploded. Official said they have been carrying out tests, which is why the water had not been heated. Immediately after the explosion, the muddy water from the pipeline can be seen flooding the street as another woman stands by watching the destruction in dismay. Council workers responsible for the communal pipeline say the burst happened on a section of the pipeline that had previously not been in use for 37 years. As a result they came under criticism when it was pointed out that the normal pipeline would only be expected to operate for 25 years before being replaced, and certainly not be put into service again after a 37-year break. The explosion left six-square-metre hole in the ground, and investigators were called in once the water had been turned off to assess the damage and prepare a report. They are also supervising repair work. Eyewitness Olexandr Gusev said: "The burst pipe created a fountain that was seven stories high." Snaps of the aftermath show the force of the explosion with a huge hole in the asphalt that looks like a bomb crater. There are also huge rocks scattered around.

This has got to be some of the craziest footage I’ve ever seen. During the course of normal day in the city of Kiev last Monday an old water pipeline that hadn’t been used in 37 years had some water pumped down it, causing it to explode and cause mass destruction in the surrounding areas after muddy water and rocks were hurled into the air.
