A teen tweeted from her LG fridge after her mom confiscated all her devices and her struggle has gone viral

An American teen’s account has gone viral after her hilarious attempts to stay online. 15-year-old Dorothy from Kentucky recently had her iPhone taken away by her mother after she almost set the kitchen alight – “I was boiling rice and was too busy on my phone and the stove burst into flames,” she told New York Magazine.

Dorothy was then punished and her mother confiscated her iPhone. In a battle of wills, Dorothy then went on to use her Nintendo Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS to continue to tweet on her @thankunext327 account – a fan page dedicated to Ariana Grande.

Dorothy’s mother found out and went on to remove all her gadgets – but that didn’t stop her. Dorothy found one last device to use in a desperate attempt to stay online – her LG fridge.

“I do not know if this is going to tweet I am talking to my fridge what the heck my Mom confiscated all of my electronics again,” she posted via her LG Smart Refrigerator. The tweet soon went viral and the hashtag #FreeDorothy began to circulate with Twitter and LG Electronics chiming in and the story making it all the way to the BBC.
