Results of a study published last October in the International Journal of Drug Policy suggests that a recent decline of 19.5% in workplaces deaths could, in fact, be the result of workers using medical marijuana.

The study suggests that this may be the run-off effect of individuals smoking pot instead of using heavier narcotics such as alcohol and opioids.

The study and results took into account all 50 states and found a notable decline in workplace-related fatalities for individuals aged 25–44.
