A robot has just broken the world record for solving a Rubik’s Cube

Rubiks Cube world record Robot

Great, it’s but a matter of time before Terminators are invented and Arnold Shwarzenegger will need to go back in time to stop LEGO from building a robot that can solve a Rubik’s Cube in 3.253 seconds to prevent the apocalypse. The LEGO Cubestormer 3, pictured above has just smashed the human record for solving a Rubik’s Cube of around 5 and a half seconds to both amaze and terrify me all at the same time.

The cube-solving robot is powered by a Galaxy Samsung S4 phone, which maps out the colours on the cube and then instructs the robot on the most efficient way to solve the cube. Creators David Gilday and Mike Dobson had this to say about their robot:

‘The new robot can think three times faster than its older brother. The record-breaking attempt is a bit of fun for us. Our real focus is to demonstrate what can be achieved with readily-available technology to inspire young minds into taking a greater interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.’

Right, now you know who to blame when the T1000 Terminator stabs you in the eye with his special metal alloy finger spike while he’s looks for John Conner.

Im a guy with a very particular view of life... im not quite sure what that view is just yet, but when I find out I'll be sure to let you know...
